PM Receives Apostolic Nuncio

- Prime Minister Peter Medgyessy received on Friday Archbishop Karl-Josef Rauber, Apostolic Nuncio, who will leave Hungary soon. No details were reported on the closed-door private meeting.
Rauber began his service in Hungary in June 1997.
Pope John Paul II recently appointed Rauber, who had been the ambassador of the Holy See to Hungary and Moldova, to become Apostolic Nuncio to Belgium and Luxemburg.
Following the spring meeting of the Hungarian Catholic Bishops' Conference, its secretary, Bishop Andras Veres, said that he believed the apostolic nuncio would leave Hungary at the end of April.
